Big Bad Boo is launching the first ever Big Bad Boo BIPOC Animation Workshop! This FREE virtual workshop series seeks to cultivate diverse animation talent and provide participants with the keys to a successful career in the industry. You’ll learn foundational principles and techniques you can only get from an animation director with over 30 years of experience and will forge relationships with potential mentors and colleagues.
Workshop Goals
By the end of the program, the participants should have an understanding of the 2D animation process and will have both rigged a character and created a walk cycle.
Program Specifics
This intensive workshop will begin with an introduction to the Children’s Television industry by Big Bad Boo Co-Founder Shabnam Rezaei, followed by 3 day-long sessions from 9:30am-5:00pm PST, led by Big Bad Boo’s Supervising Director, Eddie Soriano. The program is designed to provide participants with a crash course on the fundamentals of 2D Animation. Attendees will learn basic and advanced techniques of 2D animation using Adobe Animate (Flash).
Who Can Participate?
The Big Bad Boo BIPOC Animation Workshop is open to early to mid-level animators interested in a career in kids’ TV who identify as Black, Indigenous or People of Colour and/or part of the LGBTQ+ community. Ideal candidates are design school graduates with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
