Big Bad Boo Gears Up for Season Three of 1001 Nights
(09/16/2015)

NEW YORK, September 16, 2015 /PRNewswire-iReach/ --Big Bad Boo Studios announced today that it will begin production on Season Three of its award-winning series, 1001 Nights.

Creators Aly Jetha and Shabnam Rezaei, along with Emmy Award winner Randy Rogel are gearing up for another 26 x 11-minute episodes of this action-adventure/comedy series. Rogel, who was the show runner on the first two seasons, brings a strong track record of experience as a creative force on shows like Warner Brother's Batman, Steven Spielberg's Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain, Looney Tunes, Legend of Tarzan, Rio 2, and Disney's 7D.

1001 Nights has had tremendous success, airing in over 60 countries in 15 languages on Cartoon Network, the Disney Channel, Discovery Kids, Teletoon, PBS, Globo TV, ORF, VRT, RBTF, Children's Channel Israel, CBC Radio Canada, Al Jazeera Children's, TV Jamaica and many others. The show is one of the top performing shows for kids between ages 4 and 14 and has won many international awards including 4 Leo's. It also has placed in the Top Ten category in the MIP Junior screening room for 4 years straight with a #1 position in 2010. "We're delighted with the success of 1001 Nights; the stories are funny and filled with classic questions that stand the test of time, like, if you had a million bucks, what would you do? That's an episode," said Aly Jetha, CEO of Big Bad Boo.

Bringing to life famous characters like Shahrzad the storyteller has paid off for Big Bad Boo Studios, who started this project based on stories Rezaei's father would tell her growing up. "Disney made Aladdin but no one has ever serialized the show. We wanted to stay true to the original tales and are so honored to be the first ones to do this."

Big Bad Boo has further expanded the 1001 Nights brand by publishing a comic book series, website and web games. The comic books have sold over one million copies in six languages and have also been released digitally on Comixology. The company plans on expanding their digital media footprint as Season Three stories unfold.
