CBC Kids developing Big Bad Boo’s Judge Jodhi
(10/23/2017)

Development on the new original digital series will start this month at the Vancouver, Canada-based prodco.

Canadian public broadcaster CBC Kids has begun development on a new digital original series from Vancouver-based Big Bad Boo Studios called Judge Jodhi.

The new animated series will follow 12-year-old Jodhi, who sets up a mock court every day after school in her backyard to hear neighborhood cases. It uses humor and misunderstandings to get kids interested in current affairs, law, justice, societal norms and critical thinking.

Aimed at six- to nine-year-olds, the show was created by Big Bad Boo co-founders Aly Jetha and Shabnam Rezaei, who are behind 1001 Nights, Mixed Nutz, 16 Hudson and Lili & Lola. The latter was recently renewed for a second season on the company’s bilingual VOD platform Oznoz.

Development on Judge Jodhi is set to take six months before heading into production, with no specific air date announced yet.
